CAMPS FOR KIDS ENTERING 1ST-8TH GRADES
Summer fun at First Universalist
for children and youth!
Summer day camps offer a unique opportunity for children to build deeper friendships and a sense of connection to their church. Campers are grouped by age for part of each day, and join with children of all ages for meals, worship, and special activities.
Camps are led by Lauren Wyeth, Director of Children, Youth & Family Ministries, and our returning Camp Director, Tami Eshult, with a team of trained First U Camp Counselors and Junior Counselors.
Chalice Camp
For children entering 1st-6th grades
A high-energy UU camp with games, songs, crafts and activities to build UU identity and community.
Children take over the church building for the week! In five days of Chalice Camp, most kids spend more hours at First Universalist than they do in a year of Religious Education classes. The extended time together allows Chalice Campers to experience church as home -- we sing songs as we march through the halls, participate in youth-led worship in the Chalice Room, share lunch in the Social Hall, gather in classrooms with same-age friends for active games in the morning and journal time at the end of the day. Every afternoon, all ages join for a new adventure -- we trek to Bryant Square Park's wading pool, have a dance party, or host a talent show. Chalice Campers make new friends and strengthen existing friendships, have fun with their Camp Counselors, and get to know church staff, making connections that can last a lifetime.
Lauren Wyeth, Director of Children, Youth & Family Ministries, leads Chalice Camp.
